GSM People

GSM employs over 300 people at nine locations within the UK ,Germany, Italy and China. Every team member has a personal development plan which is reviewed regularly. Team members are mentored and encouraged to stretch their personal horizons. At GSM anything is possible if you have ability, drive and determination

GSM Innovation

Innovation is the successful exploitation of new ideas.

In addition to our in house Research, Development and software writing teams, GSM partners with universities, suppliers and other manufacturing companies to bring new, differentiated products, services and bespoke software to market. We are happy to patent, licence or joint venture. A good example is our patented G-SMart technology brand which guarantees permanently durable printing at your premises from standard Thermal Transfer printing technology.

GSM Aquisitions Policy

GSM has acquired at least one company per year since 1992. Acquisitions have delivered new products, software writing capability, access to new customers and greater market share. They have included sales due to retirement, corporate disposal of non core activities and companies in administration/liquidation. GSM is a service company that manufactures. The GSM formula; Great people + Latest technology + Tight cost control delivers CQD (Cost effective Quality & Delivery) …worldwide. GSM directly employ our own Chinese graduate engineers and embed them in our suppliers’ factories in China. They ensure that all GSM Standards are fully complied with.

GSM can celebrate over 30 profitable years in business. Annual reinvestment has kept the company at the forefront of technology and equipment.

Our strict Nil Borrowings policy of No Overdrafts, No Loans, and No Equipment Leases together with ownership of all our manufacturing sites ensures that GSM is a company with a future.

Corporate Social Responsibility

GSM is a good neighbour. All team members are encouraged to engage with the local community. Activities include organising annual enterprise projects within local schools, providing work placements for students, teachers and university post graduates.

Our core management team have been shadowed by Whitehall senior civil servants wishing to gain a greater understanding of industry.

GSM provides Board members for various Public sector organisations including: Yorkshire Forward the Regional Development Agency, The Welsh Automotive Forum and  AIM UK.

Our worldwide manufacturing facilities and offices nominate and support charities on an annual basis. Fundraising activities include marathon running, cycle races and go-karting. Great fun…with a purpose.

Environment

GSM is committed to a reduction in carbon footprint. Energy costs, solvent, chemical and water usage are strictly monitored on a daily basis. Targets have been set for a reduction of consumption by 30% before May 2011.

We have installed heat pumps, energy reclamation systems and water recycling in several of our sites.

All company vehicles can now run on Biodiesel.

Simple measures such as replacing roller shutter doors with insulated panel doors have been undertaken at all sites.
