GSM Enterprise Centre opens in Wales
GSM the Global Service and Manufacturing Group recognise that innovative ideas which may lead to new products, processes or services will originate outside GSM’s own R&D teams. In order to encourage and develop this free flow of ideas they have announced the opening of their brand new UK Enterprise Centre in Brecon, Wales. The £1M facility is to be used for the development of new products, processes or services for six GSM companies based in the UK. It is expected to employ up to 50 people when fully operational.
The concept is unique. The high specification building has no permanent internal walls and an unusual combination of high lift vehicle exit doors. Building space can be rented on flexible terms by any prospective or existing GSM customer, supplier or inventor. The 1000 metre sq facility is conveniently positioned next to the existing 3000 metre sq GSM Primographic production plant on the Ffrwdgrech Industrial Estate. This enables existing services such as Computer Aided Design, meeting rooms and conference equipment to be accessed.
The first project being undertaken in the new building is the design and fitment of styling accessories for a new sports car to be launched by a Chinese manufacturer in 2010. The vehicle is being kept under wraps for security reasons.
