General Manager Andrew Farthing and his 50 strong Welsh team have done a remarkable job in preserving as many jobs as possible and increasing exports in a very difficult year for automotive companies worldwide. Mr Farthing said, “Getting into the award finals this year was a remarkable achievement but to actually win the award is a huge compliment to our team. We have had redundancies, pay cuts and worked a four day week at the beginning of 2009. The factory has demonstrated tremendous flexibility as our customer schedules have changed on an almost daily basis. I am really fortunate to lead such a great team.”
With the help of the Welsh Assembly Government PRO-ACT scheme the company has been able to both cross train and up-skill the workforce this year. This has given GSM Primographic a significant advantage as output has begun to increase driven by the European vehicle ‘scrappage’ incentives. The company has just begun recruiting new staff to help keep up with demand
